FAQ

Clear answers, careful boundaries.

A quick guide to what Flourish does, how Flora fits in, and when to involve a qualified clinician.

About Flourish

What is Flourish?

Flourish is an AI nutrition companion for sensitive digestion. You can scan or log a meal, tell Flourish how you feel, and get a clearer read on what in that meal may be more likely to trigger symptoms, why it may matter, and what to try next, like swaps, recipes, meal ideas, or meal plans.

Can I use Flourish before it has weeks of my logs?

Yes. Flourish is designed to be useful from the first meal with a trigger score, explanation, and next-step ideas. As you use it, Flourish can build a more personal trigger profile based on your meals, symptoms, preferences, and responses.

Do I have to track everything perfectly?

No. A meal photo, short description, or quick symptom note can be enough to start. More context can help, but the goal is progress, not perfect tracking.

Flora and AI

What is Flora?

Flora is the AI nutrition companion inside Flourish. Flora helps explain meals, possible triggers, symptoms, swaps, recipes, and meal planning ideas in plain language so you can spend less time guessing and more time choosing a next step that fits your body.

What are trigger scores?

Trigger scores are Flourish's estimates of how likely a meal may be to bother you based on your profile, the meal details, and evidence-backed nutrition knowledge. Scores use a 0-10 scale: 0-3 is low, 4-7 is moderate, and 8-10 is high. A trigger score comes with an explanation, not just a label.

What can I get from Flora after a meal?

Flora can give you a meal explanation, possible trigger contributors, gentler swaps, recipe ideas, and meal planning suggestions. Over time, Flora can use your responses to make those suggestions more personal.

What informs the guidance?

Flourish uses the meal details you provide plus a curated knowledge base of nutrition science, clinical guidelines, and evidence-backed resources. It is built to explain possible contributors and practical next steps, not to diagnose.

Digestive health and medical boundaries

Can Flourish tell me exactly what caused my symptoms?

No. Digestive symptoms are complex, and Flourish cannot prove that one food caused one symptom. It can help you understand likely contributors, compare clues, and decide what to try next.

Can Flourish help with IBS, reflux, or bloating?

Flourish can help you think through meals and symptoms related to IBS, reflux, bloating, IBD-related food questions, and food uncertainty. It is not a diagnosis or treatment tool, but it can help you organize what happened and choose practical next steps.

Can Flourish help if I have IBD?

Flourish can help with IBD-related food questions by organizing meals, symptoms, timing, and daily context, then giving symptom-focused meal explanations and gentler food ideas from Flora. It does not diagnose IBD, monitor inflammation, predict flares, or replace care from a GI clinician or IBD-focused dietitian. If you are in a flare or have symptoms like blood in stool, fever, severe pain, dehydration, unexplained weight loss, or worsening symptoms, contact a qualified clinician.

Are IBD trigger foods the same as foods that cause inflammation?

Not necessarily. A food may trigger unpleasant symptoms for one person without meaning it is causing inflammation or harm. For IBD, food choices can depend on flare or remission status, strictures, nutrition needs, and your care plan.

Is Flourish medical advice?

No. Flourish provides educational nutrition guidance and practical food support. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace care from a qualified clinician.

When should I talk to a clinician?

Talk with a qualified clinician for severe, persistent, worsening, unusual, or concerning symptoms. Seek urgent care for alarm symptoms such as chest pain, trouble swallowing, blood in vomit or stool, black stools, or unexplained weight loss.

Providers

Is there a provider dashboard?

Not currently. Flourish helps patients capture clearer food, symptom, and daily context they can share in care conversations.

Can providers request a demo?

Yes. Providers can use the provider demo inquiry path on the contact page.
